NEIGHBORHOOD
WE LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS
Any gathering place worth its weight, be it a hotel, restaurant, or music venue, is woven into the social fabric of its community. It draws inspiration from the vibrancy of its surroundings.
It means something to be from a place, to love its nuances and invest in its longevity - Locals get that, and the best hotels do, too.
-
Social Status
Style and substance sought after by the entire city. Seven outposts (but this is the original).
-
Common Market
Deli, corner store, bottle shop. The crossroads of the neighborhood.
-
Charlotte NC Tours
Dianna Ward is a true champion of the best neighborhoods in the city. See Charlotte from her point of view.
-
The Thirsty Beaver
An institution. Holding firm.
-
Supperland
A glamorous space for a sumptuous meal. Great for entertaining or indulging on special occasions. Must try their desserts.
-
Milkbread
Opened up in a repurposed Dairy Queen, a brand-new addition to the neighborhood.
-
Cold-Hearted Gelato
Pop-ups all around us! Keep your eye out.
-
Central Coffee
One of the first single origin coffee retailers on the Charlotte scene. Serving the Central Avenue neighborhood for over a decade.
-
Undercurrent Coffee
Another solid coffee joint. They will be roasting their own beans soon.
-
Slate Interiors
These folks appreciate throwback style and have mind blowing pieces. Mostly found and restored, so you can’t get this stuff just anywhere. They’ve recently moved, but stay near and dear (a lot of Refuge pieces are from here!).
-
The Culture Shop
An elevated corner store experience, right in the neighborhood.
-
Reggae Central
All things Rastafari and island. You can spend hours soaking in the vibes.
-
La Autentica
Simply put — it’s good Mexican food. No fuss.
-
Midwood Smokehouse
This one is on everyone’s stop. And this is the original location.
